Side by side

The two classic bulbs, side by side.

C7 and C9 are the two traditional Christmas bulb sizes. C9 is the bigger, chunkier bulb you remember from vintage incandescent strings; C7 is its slightly smaller sibling. Modern LED versions of both are far brighter and far more efficient than the old glass bulbs — so the real choice is proportion, not power.

How to choose

Neither bulb is wrong. One is right for a Utah roofline.

Both are LED, both throw the same classic silhouette. What differs is scale — and scale is a daytime decision, not a night-time one.

C7 — refined, residential

Right-sized for typical Utah rooflines. Substantial from the street, clean up close. This is what Sparkled installs.

C9 — bold, oversized

Reads bigger from long distances; on ordinary residential fascia it can read heavy by day.

Brightness is the LED's job

Our commercial-grade C7 LEDs are ~3× brighter than box-store strings — shell size doesn't decide visibility.

Spacing decides the look

Whatever the bulb, 12" spacing keeps bulbs reading as bulbs.

What's the difference between C7 and C9 Christmas lights?

Size, mostly. C7 bulbs are the smaller of the two classic Christmas bulb shapes; C9 bulbs are larger and chunkier. Both come in the same colors and both read as traditional Christmas lights — the choice is about proportion: C9 reads bolder from far away, C7 reads more refined up close.

Which does Sparkled install?

C7 — professional commercial-grade LED C7 bulbs, about 3× brighter than local box-store strings, at 12" spacing. On typical Utah residential rooflines the C7 proportion looks right: substantial from the street without turning the fascia into a runway.

Are LED C7 bulbs bright enough?

Yes. Brightness comes from the LED, not the shell size — our commercial-grade C7s are about 3× brighter than box-store strings. Bulb size changes the daytime look and the scale of the glow, not whether the neighbors can see it.

Do C7 and C9 cost different amounts?

Our seasonal service is priced by footage and scope, not bulb shape — see pricing. Every install is all-inclusive: we provide, install, maintain, remove and store the lights.
